White fused Al2O3 powder for paint always works as a filler material for paints. It can improve wear resistance, corrosion resistance performance. In the formulation of coating paint, there are necessary fillers besides the main resin material. The adding fillers can adjust coating performance such as durability, flatness, etc.

There are some basic requirements for chemicals as paint filler:

 

  1. The whiteness. The filler powder should not affect the color blending of coating base materials and pigments.
  2. Good dispersion. Easily dispersible fillers can reduce the time and cost of dispersing fillers in the production of coatings. In the meantime, it can improve the performance of coatings.
  3. Chemical stability and inertness. The filler should not react with the base materials, pigments, and other fillers in the coating.
  4. Low oil absorption rate. Low oil absorption is beneficial to increase the critical pigment volume concentration of the coating. It can save resin consumption. At the same time, it matches with other mainstream low oil absorption pigments on the market.
  5. The particle size of the filler should be accurate with a narrow particle size range. Filler powder with a narrow particle size can play a role in space separation in the coating. So the particles of various materials in the coating can be more evenly distributed. Meanwhile, it helps to maintain the consistency of the performance of the coating.
  6. Liquidity. Good fluidity (leveling) can prevent the coating from precipitation when placed and stored. That will make the coating construction easier.
  7. Proper BET. The BET affects the viscosity, fluidity, dispersion stability, sedimentation, oil absorption, and other performance indicators of the coating.

 

White fused Al2O3 powder is a kind of Al2O3 formed by high-temperature fusion crystallization. The chemical properties are consistent with the stability characteristics of fillers. White fused aluminum oxide powder can work as a filler of water-based coatings, epoxy coatings, polyurethane coatings, fluorocarbon coatings, and fluorocarbon powder coatings.

Apparently, it has the following advantages:

 

  1. High whiteness.
  2. The white fused alumina powder is sieved by the water suspension treating process. So, it has good fluidity and dispersion.
  3. Strong chemical stability. There is no chemical reaction with acid, alkali, and other substances.
  4. The oil absorption rate is low. The oil absorption rate of fused aluminum oxide is within 10% after testing by our customers.
  5. The fused white aluminum oxide micro-powder is suspension treated. So there are no large particles in the powder. The particles are of good consistency.
  6. Fused aluminum oxide is of high refractoriness. It can resistant to high temperatures and get good thermal stability.
  7. The PH value is neutral.
  8. The white Al2O3 powder has high hardness and strong wear resistance. That feature can enhance the wear resistance of the coating.
  9. Many-particle sizes of fused white aluminum oxide powder are available. It ranged from coarse grit(63um,50um, etc) to very fine grits(2.5um, 1.5um, even 0.5um).
